Educational Assessments

Psychoeducational Evaluations

SPG’s experienced Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEPs) conduct thorough school-based psychoeducational assessments. This type of assessment is an individual evaluation that involves gathering developmental, family, school, social-emotional, and health histories, as well as administration and interpretation of standardized and alternative tests. A student’s pattern of strengths and weaknesses is identified to help IEP teams determine eligibility for special education services as well as specific suggestions and recommendations for a student to achieve their full potential.

Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)

SPG’s BCBAs conduct comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) using a variety of techniques and strategies to identify the purposes of specific challenging behaviors and determine appropriate interventions to directly address these behaviors.

Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)

Our BCBAs design and oversee the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on the results of an FBA. The BIP describes a problem behavior, an analysis of why the behavior occurs and intervention strategies that include positive behavioral supports. Our BCBAs craft comprehensive user-friendly BIPs that focus on teaching and rewarding positive behaviors.

Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)

SPG provides Independent Educational Evaluations to many Bay Area school districts. Our veteran assessors receive specialized training to ensure that their evaluations are comprehensive, individualized, educationally relevant and legally defensible. IEEs typically include school-site observations, teacher and parent interviews, a review of records, as well as standardized and alternative assessment measures.
